3D crystal engraving is a highly expressive art form, but not all photos are suitable for internal engraving. To ensure you're amazed when you receive your order, CustMake designers have summarized 3 golden rules to help you choose the perfect photo!
Rule 1: Clarity is KingInternal engraving reproduces the image through ""dots"". If the original image is blurry or has a lot of noise, the dots engraved by laser will also appear muddy.
✅ recommend:High-resolution original images taken with a DSLR camera, and close-up photos taken with a mobile phone in good lighting.
❌ avoid:Blurry night shots and repeatedly forwarded compressed meme images.
Rule Two: The composition should be compact. The area to be carved in crystal is limited (usually concentrated in the center).
✅ recommend:Half-body portraits, headshots, and intimate group photos. The larger the proportion of the face in a person's image, the more three-dimensional the facial features appear!
❌ avoid:Full-body long shot (faces will become only the size of a grain of rice and cannot be seen clearly), group photo (the effect will be reduced if there are more than 4 people).
Rule 3: The simpler the background, the better.Although our designers will help you remove the background, if the subject and background colors are too similar (such as black hair against a black background), it may affect the extraction of edges.
CustMake's services:Don't worry, after you place your order, our designers will manually process your photos, remove cluttered backgrounds, and send you a mockup via email for confirmation.
